Turnaround Time

The Wicked Collection turnaround time will be 12-16 weeks, with all orders shipping by January 4th-February 1st at the latest.

It is important to note that this is the absolute latest that your order will ship! We start shipping preorder yarn about 4 weeks into dyeing so that we're able to move yarn through the studio, making it more likely that you receive your order in a shorter turnaround timeframe.

Shipping

we automatically combine orders if you place more than one during the preorder - this is automatic so no need to email us asking us to do so

all shipping overages over $5 will be refunded

we ship orders as they become ready, so depending on what you order and when we dye it, you could get it well before the stated turnaround time

if you need to change your shipping address, you must email our shipping manager, Rachel, at ekfship@gmail.com so we can update it in our shipping system!

Love Tax

As of June 2024, we have updated our Anti-Fat Tax (Love Tax) policy. Going forward, our Love Tax discount will be 15% off orders of 7+ skeins of any colorway/base that are intended to be used for a single project with the discount code ANTI-FAT TAX.

We ask that you put Love Tax-eligible yarn (e.g. an 8-skein sweater quantity) in an order separate from yarn that the discount does not apply to (e.g. a sock set). We automatically combine orders and refund all shipping overages over $5!

Any kit with 7+ skeins is eligible for our 15% Anti-Fat Tax (Love Tax) discount with the code ANTI-FAT TAX KITS. Please place your Love Tax-eligible kits in an order separate from any Love Tax-eligible non-kit yarn AND any Love Tax-ineligible yarn. We automatically combine orders and refund all shipping overages over $5!

This system will only work if we have trust between each other and faith that only those that actually need the code use it. If we have fears that people are taking advantage of this inclusivity discount we will find another way to implement it for those who need it.

Wicked Ravelry Bundle

Leith Cardigan
Rebecca Clow

We don't need to tell you pink goes good with green, but this Wicked version of the Leith Cardigan proves it🩷💚 Designed with an intarsia divide down the back, this pattern offers ample opportunity to play with color blocking and stripes. We jumped at the chance to represent both Glinda and Elphaba in this easy fitting and beautifully wearable cardigan because you simply cannot make us choose! We won't ask you to either😘

The Leith Cardigan is a drop shoulder, relaxed fit garment worked from the bottom up with a double-knit button-band and intarsia division down the back that lets you play with color blocking and stripes.

Matcha Jumper
Inês Oliveira

The Matcha Jumper will keep you stylishly cozy with its modern cut and clever details even when rushing through the halls of Shiz to your next sorcery class! Building on traditional knitwear themes like the saddle shoulder and seaming, the Matcha Jumper reinterprets these elements into a seamless garment boasting a close-fit mock neck and bold cuffs in twisted rib enough to impress Headmistress Madame Morrible herself. But even this beauteous sweater won't be enough if you're late. Hurry!✨📖💚

The Matcha Jumper is knit top-down in one piece, mostly in the round, in stockinette stitch. The work starts with the neckline, which is shaped using German short rows. The yoke is shaped using a seamless saddle shoulder construction with faux seams. At the underarm, the work is divided in body and sleeves. Each piece is knit separately and finished with a hem in twisted rib. The neck is worked in twisted rib from the neckline, folded inwards and seamed down.

The pattern includes optional bust shaping using German short rows, tips on how to adjust for a different row gauge, as well as modification suggestions for wider shoulders, larger sleeves and deeper armholes. The neckline is perfectly suited for a turtleneck too.

Bad Idea Blouse
Windwood Farm Knits

Wildly versatile with a "choose your own adventure" type of pattern, our favorite version of the Bad Idea Blouse is short sleeved pink perfection knit with 2 strands of Suri held together to create a gorgeously airy fabric light enough to float away like a bubble on the wind🫧 💖

The Bad Idea Blouse is knit top down and can be tailored to your personal taste. Short-sleeved, long-sleeved, cropped or not, this pattern can also be knit with a single strand of lace, 2 strands of lace held together, or even a single strand of fingering weight yarn! We opted for 2 strands of Suri Alpaca Lace held together to create a short-sleeved version. This kit will include the required Suri yardage for the long-sleeved version to give you the flexibility to choose which style suits you best! Feel free to order more, less, or different yarn à la carte if you're being called in a different direction!

Alicia Plummer

With a dependable drape, clean rib, and dash of brioche at the collar, the Favorite Flannel sweater and you will truly be two best friends sharing plenty of wonderful days❤️✨

RibWave Sweater
Joanna Ang

Not sure what to wear to the most swankified place in town? We have a suggestion! With elegant moving lines, delicate cables, and truly magical sleeve details, the RibWave shows off in all the right ways and will be sure to snag you a dance with that special someone down at the Ozdust. Let's face it! You deserve each other 💖

The RibWave sweater is constructed from the top down. The front panel is knit flat with German short rows shaping the shoulders and neckline. Once the front section is worked to the underarm, it is set aside. Stitches are then picked up along the shoulders of the front panel and the back neckline is subtly shaped using short rows to enhance the overall fit. The body is worked in the round to the hem and sleeve stitches are picked up around the armhole and worked in the round.

Book Club Cardigan
Sari Nordlund

Gorgeously detailed and richly textured, the Book Club Cardigan is the only choice for a day spent exploring the Emerald City's libraries and museums with Elphaba by your side. Diamond cables, front pockets (Wizomania tickets anyone?!), and an effortless fit—everything about the Book Club Cardigan is simply grand. And in our case, it's all green😘💚

The Book Club Cardigan has a relaxed fit with dropped shoulders. It is knitted seamlessly top down with a diamond cable pattern that is a lot easier than it first appears and is suitable for knitters who are just learning to knit cables.

The Book Club Cardigan is started at the back neck and then increased to the full width of the back. After that stitches are picked up along the sloped shoulders for the fronts. The pieces are joined at the underarm and the body is knitted in one piece. The sleeve stitches are then picked up from the body and worked in the round. The length of the body and sleeves are easily modified to suit your own body measurements!

Jaunty Shawl
Andrea Mowry

The Jaunty shawl is your ideal solution for warding off wind when taking to the western sky! Our Denali Sock held double version perfectly wraps around your neck to keep the cold (and naysayers) at bay while the stitch pattern offers both next-to-skin coziness and rhythmic flow for your brain. Grab your broomstick and Jaunty with confidence and go fly🧹✨

This shawl is a shallow triangle and knit sideways using Half-Fishermen’s Rib. The simple construction and adaptable sizing means you can play with different yarn weights and textures and try holding multiple strands together just like we did. This is definitely a pattern to knit again and again and we encourage you to play with different yarn combinations from the Wicked collection that can be ordered for this pattern à la carte!

Non-Superwash Fun Facts

New to NSW? No worries! We all know how much I love our superwash bases, so this info is for those like me who haven't worked with non-superwash much and are curious to learn more about it! Here are some interesting facts and benefits:

regulates body temperature well (keeping the wearer not too hot/too cold) - hikers often use wool as insulating base layers/socks to keep dry while hiking

stitches bloom well and fill out when blocked (especially noticeable in colorwork projects) and don't stretch out (NSW garments have good memory)

moisture-wicking and more water-resistant than superwash yarns

more sustainably produced (minimally processed and non-resource-intensive to create)

appear less saturated than our superwash yarns, often looking like a more blended, lower-contrast version of the colorway (especially in variegated colorways)

Earthy Sock is very soft as non-superwash bases go, Earthy DK blooms beautifully and becomes even softer after blocking, and Linen Sock and Linen DK have a lovely heathered look in most tonal colorways. It is within the nature of non-superwash yarns to be much blendier than superwash yarns in variegated colors, often resulting in diffused, murkier shades (especially with darker colorways). Make sure to reference the photos of our NSW yarns on Instagram to see exactly how they will look!

Bouclé All Day

We are SO excited that you all have been loving our Bouclé DK base! A lot of people are just starting to use bouclé, so we asked one of our lovely sample knitters, Megan, for some tips and tricks for your first time working with this yarn:

swatching with bouclé yarn is essential — because our Bouclé DK base is less elastic compared to our other DK bases, your bouclé gauge will likely be different than your non-bouclé gauge (our sample knitter knit swatches on US 2-6 to see the fabric the bouclé creates on each size for our Port Sweater sample)

use markers — stitches in bouclé yarn are harder to read and tell apart, so having removable stitch markers for marking increases/decreases, etc. is recommended!

test out needle/hook styles — some makers prefer super sharp needles to get into the bouclé stitches easier, and others prefer dull needles to prevent snagging the bouclé loops. Our sample knitter recommends trying both if you have the option when swatching!
