The term comes from a practice beginning in the 16th century of gathering loose wool caught on thorns and fences by passing sheep. It has since come to mean someone who daydreams.
Drifting off with your head in the clouds is such a whimsical feeling. It’s a place of peace and solace, a momentary escape. Transporting to a place in my mind relaxes and centers me when I find I’m in need of refilling my cup.
